We’re currently looking for a hard working, loyal and enthusiastic individual to join our growing team. Since Wilde Child transitioned up to its current site in February 2018 the Company has gone from strength to strength by winning multiple awards (3 of them internationally recognised) as well as building an enviable customer base Nationwide. 2020 brings new and exciting opportunities with exportation of our products being an integral part of the growth of the business – We already have The Netherlands, Spain and Finland to add to our portfolio of international customers, with more in the pipeline for next year. We’ve also secured a deal with one of the 4 large Supermarkets and we’ll start producing products for them late January with a view to them being available on the shelves in March.
In addition to this we intend to purchase our own canning line so we can produce smaller batches of canned beer thus keeping our product selection as diverse and interesting as possible for our customers. We will also transition to a larger premises next Autumn which will not only allow us to increase output, but we will also install a taproom and seated area overlooking the brew house. There’s a lot of hard graft to put in between now and then but if these developments/challenges sound interesting to you, then this may be the perfect opportunity.
Main duties will include (but not be limited to):
Wort production on a 16 hl brew kit, yeast management, full CIP of all fermentation vessels, cask washing, keg and cask filling, carbonation of beer prior to canning or kegging, work on the canning line, safely operating a forklift truck (full training given if necessary), help with implementing better working procedures, devising new recipes, weekend checks, monthly open day work (paid extra for your services), deliveries (to cover holidays), recording brew day information, stock takes, acting as a brand ambassador / meet the brewer events, general cleaning of entire brew house, work closely with the head brewer / owner and assistant brewer to ‘get the job done’.
The right candidate will posses the following skills / experience / attributes:
Have 2 year’s commercial brewing experience, be physically fit enough to carry and move heavy loads (up to 55kg) multiple times a day, to be a problem solver and find the solution, FULL CLEAN DRIVING LICENCE, excellent interpersonal skills and be able to bring people together, to be flexible enough to work overtime should the needs of the business require it, be able to work in a fast paced / high pressure environment, have a positive mental attitude, be able to adhere to the company’s policies and procedures, ability to comply with chemical handling procedures, desire to progress up the hierarchy.
In return for your services, we offer the following:
£19,000-21,500 per annum dependant on experience (Monday-Thursday 8am til 4.30pm & Friday 8am til 4pm), 20 days holiday per annum + bank holidays (day off in lieu if we need to work them) + time off at Christmas, beer allowance (including a tab at the monthly open days), career progression opportunities.
