20 Nov WE’RE RECRUITING
Wilde Child Brewing Co. was founded in April 2016 by Keir McAllister-Wilde, a homebrewer of 6 years and 2 year’s experience of commercial brewing. The main aim was to produce strong and interesting beers on his 1 barrel kit in a market predominantly saturated by ‘safe and middle of the road’ beverages. 19 months and 2 awards later, demand has vastly outstripped supply for a total of 8 consecutive months and in addition to that we’ve built up an enviable customer base in the Yorkshire region. After securing funding and a 2,000 square foot industrial unit only a stone’s throw away from Leeds City Centre (Armley); we’ve made the decision to expand up to a 10 barrel operation. We need your help to take our company forward.
The main responsibilities of the Brewery Assistant will be to support the Director/Head Brewer in the day to day running of all aspects of business operations and help to take the company in the right direction.
An open mind in terms of progression within the Company is something you’ll need to have. Full training will be given (where needed) and over time I would envisage this could either progress into the role of Business Development Manager or move into a senior brewing position. This will all be dependent on which direction the candidate would prefer to progress and where their main strengths lie.
Some knowledge of the fundamentals of the brewing process are essential as well as having a desire to learn more through on-site training and off-site day courses. A keen eye for detail as well as appreciating the art of cleanliness is also essential for the right candidate.
The role will include some aspects of the brewing process and input into helping develop new and interesting recipes will be strengthen your progression into a brewing role (if that’s the way you want to go).
Good computer skills are a must as the right candidate will have to familiarise themselves with the brewery software (Viewplan) that has been installed to help with day to day office operations e.g. sales, stock control, raising invoices, duty return and ordering materials.
Identifying potential sales opportunities and key accounts is an absolute must to help the company get off the ground. Some telesales work will be required of the candidate to secure those all important accounts, so a good telephone manner, knowledge of the products & good interpersonal skills are essential.
Attending meet the brewer and trade events will be required in helping to generate exposure of the brand as well as help on the one Saturday a month that the Brewery opens its doors for a pop up bar (paid extra for your time)
A full clean driving licence is an absolute MUST.
Certain brew house operations and the delivery of products can be very physical so you should be fairly strong and in good health to carry out these tasks.
The candidate should be forward thinking and not afraid to speak their mind. If they think a process can be done better, then their input will always be considered.
Working hours will be 8-4.30pm Monday-Thursday and 8-4pm on a Friday with weekend beer checks and actions. The applicant should be prepared to work extra hours if the business demands as well.
For the right person, this is a very exciting opportunity to join this young company with the potential to go far.
Expected start date for this role will be on or around January 30th 2018 (to be confirmed).
All applicants should send a cover letter and CV to firstname.lastname@example.org by Thursday 7th December.
